Ryujin Sushi Roll216-meter-long Ryujin Sushi roll

Ryujin sushi roll is made of Tsuruta’s specialty rice called “Tsuru no Kagayaki”. This event is one of the main activities held during the annual Tsuruta Festival (Celebration of Water and Fire).

The event started in 1991 to promote rice consumptions. Dragon Sushi represents the dragon in the tragic love legend of Tsugaru Fujimi Lake.

216-meter-long sushi roll needs approximately 240kg (530lb) of rice, 30kg (66lbs) of cucumbers, 20kg (44lbs) of Kanpyo (dried gourd shavings), 10kg (22lbs) of red pickled ginger, and 1800 seaweed sheets.

Participants share exciting experience of making and eating such a unique sushi roll. It’s free to participate, no reservation required and walk-ins are welcome. Come join making Dragon Sushi roll with your family and friends.
